Comfort and style in one – a guide to choosing the perfect sofa

How to check if the chosen sofa is right for you?

  1. Before purchasing, just sit on it and check how the installed foams bend under you and how the material behaves,
  2. Get up from the sofa and observe how long it takes the place to return to its original shape,
  3. Try all the functions of the sofa – unfold it, if possible, open the storage compartment. Also check how the bottom of the seat is finished,
  4. Ask someone to sit next to you to see how the furniture behaves. Notice if you are collapsing or if the material is stretching unnaturally.
  5.  And finally, sit on it for a while. Is it still comfortable for you after sitting for a few minutes? Do you want to change your seating position? Observe your reflexes and make the best decision 🙂

The Size

When choosing a sofa or sofa for your living room, start by measuring the place where you want to put it. This is very important because it will allow you to immediately focus your search on specific categories. The most important thing is the length of the furniture, and in the case of corner sofas, also the width. Remember that when determining the maximum length that a sofa can have in your interior, you determine the total length, and not, for example, the length of the seat or the length without side backrests. Before ordering the appropriate model, make sure that the manufacturer provides the overall dimension as the main dimension.

The Style

Look for sofas that will match your interior and don’t be discouraged if the manufacturer doesn’t show the color you’re interested in in the store or on the website. The color of the material can usually be selected later.

Moreover, if your living room is in a small apartment, look for sofas with legs, which will make them seem lighter and the entire space larger. Similarly, if the whole thing is finished in glamor or modern glamor style. In such interiors, sofas with metal legs will delicately highlight the whole.

What’s inside also counts

Even the most beautiful sofa, upholstered with great material, will not work at all if it is not well made. What’s underneath is even more important than the upholstery material itself. When choosing, ask what foam was used to make a given piece of furniture, whether springs or upholstery belts were used. Furniture combining these three elements retains its shape and comfort for years. Interestingly, foam that adapts its shape to the human body is increasingly used in the production of sofas. Thanks to its unique properties, this foam adapts to the shape of the body and provides it with maximum comfort during rest.
