Project description
We designed a modern kitchen with dark navy cabinets and wooden accents. The space is functional, with plenty of storage and modern appliances. The kitchen island with a stone countertop serves as a central point, perfect for meal preparation.

Planning a kitchen for a young family
When designing a kitchen for a young family, it is important to consider future needs, such as child safety and sufficient storage space. It’s worth choosing easy-to-clean materials and avoiding sharp edges. Functional solutions, like a kitchen island, can serve as additional space for cooking and family meals. Thoughtful lighting and ergonomic placement of kitchen appliances will enhance comfort and usability.

Why it is worth planning tall cabinetry in the kitchen
Planning tall cabinetry in the kitchen brings numerous benefits. First and foremost, it maximises storage space, which is especially important in smaller kitchens. With cabinets reaching up to the ceiling, you can efficiently utilise all available space, eliminating unnecessary empty gaps. Tall cabinetry also helps maintain order by allowing less frequently used items to be stored on higher shelves, leaving easily accessible space for everyday needs. Aesthetically, such cabinetry gives the kitchen a cohesive and elegant appearance, creating a sense of order and spaciousness.
Dark navy pairs well with silver handles and a stainless steel fridge.
To break up the dark navy, we designed the island with a wooden cladding.
Part of the tall cabinetry is glazed. We have planned LED lighting under the shelves.
We have planned subtle LED lighting around the base of the entire kitchen.
The standard distance between cabinets and the island should be 120 cm. On the left side, this distance has been reduced to 90 cm because the cabinet fronts are smaller and will take up less space when opened.
