This apartment was meant to be a second home for the entire family when their teenage children begin attending school in a larger city.
Every project has a story, and this one is no different.
Planning a flat for a family with growing children requires attention to several key aspects. First and foremost, we focus on functionality—each room is designed with enough space for study and relaxation, tailored to the needs of teenagers. The communal area, such as the living room and dining area, is comfortable and serves as a space for family gatherings. We incorporate storage solutions, such as built-in wardrobes and shelves, to maintain order. Flexible furniture is chosen so that it can easily be adapted to the changing needs of the household. Finally, we prioritise aesthetics—neutral bases with colourful accents in the children's rooms allow for easy redecorating in the future.
Teenager's room
When designing rooms for growing children, it's important to consider their needs and interests, which can change quickly. It's a good idea to opt for versatile, functional furniture, such as a bed with storage for bedding, a desk with a large work surface, and shelves for books and school supplies. Adequate lighting is crucial, especially near the computer, to protect the child's eyesight. Investing in a comfortable office chair and an additional chair for guests will allow for enjoyable time spent with friends. Adding personal touches, such as posters, plants, or favourite gadgets, will make the room feel cosier and more tailored to the child’s individual tastes.
